The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) and the City of Wilmington are collaborating on a water line relocation project that began on Friday, May 8, 2020.

Starting on Wednesday, May 13, I-95 northbound will be reduced to a single travel lane 24 hours a day in the area of the 10th Street bridge. This traffic pattern is expected to remain in place until Tuesday, May 19.

Delays should be expected especially during peak travel times in the morning and afternoon. Motorists not destined for the Wilmington area are strongly advised to use I-495 as an alternate route during this work to avoid delays.

Once this work on the northbound lanes is completed, a lane reduction on I-95 southbound will be needed and a starting date will be shared as that information is finalized.
